Perfect Harmony

Fact Sheet

Perfect Harmony uses several phytoestrogens to help re balance the hormonal levels for both, menstrual and menopausal Imbalances.

What are phytoestrogens?  Phytoestrogens – are a group of chemicals found in plants that can act like the hormone estrogen and are readily accepted by the body. Estrogens are a hormone necessary for childbearing and are involved with bone and heart health in women. They can be absorbed and used to help make up the estrogen deficiency and reduce menopausal symptoms. Research using 40 mg of lsoflavones has shown reduced incidences of hot flushes.

Ingredients:-

Soy Isoflavones – can help to protect against Osteoporosis, aid in the retention and utilisation of Calcium in the bones.  Many nutritionists now believe that phytoestrogens such as the soy lsoflavones, should be included in all calcium and most other post-menopausal nutritional products.  The natural plant estrogens from soy can also help prevent cardiovascular disease when estrogen levels decline.

Red Clover – is recognized for its strong cleansing effects on the system and can help in reducing hot flushes and breast pain associated with menstrual cycles.

Feverfew – has been used for many generations by women as a relief for pain during their cycle. This supplement is reported to relieve the pain from cramps, bloating and the headache that often occurs during their cycle. Given that many hormone replacement therapies are no longer recommended to many women due to the risk of serious side effects an effective, natural method is a suitable alternative.

Spirulina – Many women in the menopause have less trouble from menopausal symptoms if they take Spirulina. They feel calmer, more energetic, balanced and have less bother from hot flushes.

Spirulina contains gamma-linolenic acid that is changed into prostaglandin in the body and therefore has a positive effect on the menstruation cycle.  Spirulina ensures that the body gradually rids itself of the pollutants and gives new energy. Research has found many women have shorter and easier menstruation and feel more comfortable in the period preceding menstruation.

Wheatgrass – This green giant contains over 80 different minerals, including 10% of the recommended daily value of iron, a supplement all menstruating women should be taking. One serving of wheatgrass also contains 7% of your daily value of Vitamin C, an important immune system booster and energizer.

For women going through menopause, wheatgrass can be a godsend to create a more balanced body system, making life more manageable and promoting energy at a time when it is needed most.

Wheatgrass can also avert hair loss, a common side effect of menopause.

Vitamin E – This is an important vitamin to consider at the menopause. Over many years’ clinical studies have shown its effect on reducing hot flushes. Vitamin E is also helpful for vaginal dryness and one study showed that just 400 IU taken daily for between 1 and 4 months helped 50 percent of the women given supplemental vitamin E. It can also be used internally inside the vagina every night for about six weeks to help relieve dryness. Clinical trials reported that Vitamin E acts as an estrogen substitute and controlled hot flashes in half of women.

Foods containing phytoestrogens?

More than 300 foods have been shown to contain phytoestrogens. Most food phytoestrogens are from one of three chemical classes, the isoflavonoids, the lignans or the coumestans

Isoflavonoid phytoestrogens are found in beans from the legume family; soybeans and soy products are the major dietary source of this type of phytoestrogens. Lignan phytoestrogens are found in high fibre foods such as cereal brans and beans; flaxseeds contain substantial amounts of lignans.

The coumestan phytoestrogens are found in various beans such as split peas, pinto beans, and lima beans; alfalfa and clover sprouts are the foods with the highest amounts of coumestans.
